Passive House is a rigorous, voluntary house-building standard that focuses on energy efficiency and reducing the energy needed to run a comfortable home. The Passive House was born not only out of a desire to build more energy-efficient homes that are less expensive to run but out of a desire to reduce the amount of energy needed to run them to minimise the ecological footprint that house-building leaves.
